In 1914 Southwestern Battery Supply Company was organized to serve the early automobile battery market in Tulsa and North-Eastern Oklahoma. Until the early 1950's our primary business was car batteries, but being located in Tulsa, from the earliest days much of our work involved servicing the varied and some-times unusual battery needs of the oil industry.

Our close relationship with this industry altered the company's focus from that of a typical automotive battery distributor and increasingly drew us toward the industrial battery market, which we entered in 1954. Three years later we left the automobile battery business, and since then have specialized in industrial DC power. For more than 40 years we have represented C & D Batteries, (now C & D Technologies) which, though its corporate ownership has changed more than once during this time, has retained its dedication to high product quality.

Southwestern Battery sells ‘engineered products’ with our sales approach driven by the basic principle that we have never viewed our products as ‘commodities’. Our sales personnel are trained to listen to your requirements and to work with you to provide the optimal products for your application. Our position is that of consultant, and to never push a product without first understanding your specific needs.

Now in our 94th year Southwestern Battery employs more than 40 people at four offices throughout Texas and Oklahoma. We are proud to employ highly trained and dedicated sales, service, and manufacturing personnel, to insure our customers of the finest products and service the industry has to offer.
